Timeline of Eros

This is a timeline of Erosian history, containing events taking place in, or relating to, Eros and other planes of the Macrocosm. All era dates are given in the Trans-Era Calendar (TEC), where year 0 is set at the first destruction of the Vile One. All event dates are given in the Local Era Calendar, where year 0 is set at the beginning of that era.

Timeline of Eros

Era 0 (P-0 TEC)

• Since primordium
  • The Etherian gods existed.
• Sentience prehistory
  • The Etherian sentiences are created by the Etherian gods.
  • The prime sentiences manifest themselves in the physical plane of Eros.
• Sentience history
  • The Vile One manifests itself as a structure between the Hydronis binary stars and Etheros.
  • The Shatterer breaks the Vile One into pieces that later form the Moon, sacrificing themselves.
  • Pieces of the Vile One rain on Etheros, causing the Great Cleaving. Other pieces create the moonkin.

Era 1 (0-57289 TEC)

First Time of Darkness (0-692 LEC)

• 572 LEC
  • The First Alliance for Freedom is formed to oppose the moonkin.
• 692 LEC
  • The First Alliance for Freedom pushes the moonkin out of the inhabited zones of Etheros and establishes the first borders.

Time of Peace (692-1860 LEC)

• 792 LEC
  • The first Etherian trade routes are established by the dragons between the villages of Etheros.
• 1503 LEC
  • The Vile One begins breaking off pieces of the Moon to strike Etheros, preparing for another war.
• 1692 LEC
  • A dragon, convinced by the Vile One that the other species of Etheros are plotting to destroy the dragons, signs the Pact of Hisaa for the first time, aligning himself with the Vile One and becoming the first chromatic dragon.
  • The Vile One begins a crusade of enlisting dragons to its Draconic Alliance.
• 1860 LEC
  • The Draconic Alliance makes its first full-scale attack against the other species of Etheros, marking the beginning of the Dragon War.

Dragon War (1860-2102 LEC)

• 1889 LEC
  • The Second Alliance for Freedom is formed by the remaining humans, elves, dwarves, and metallic dragons to oppose the Draconic Alliance.
• 1891 LEC
  • The Draconic Alliance makes extinct a number of edible plants in Etheros in an attempt to starve the Second Alliance and cull their numbers.
• 2102 LEC
  • The Second Alliance kills or sends into exile the last of the chromatic dragons, effectively ending the Dragon War.
  • Many of the remaining metallic dragons begin their self-imposed exile in shame for the actions of their chromatic counterparts.

Time of Hidden Evil (2102-9451 LEC)

• 2179 LEC
  • After the exile of the dragons, the remaining species of Etheros spread out across the land and establish a number of empires.
• 2200 LEC
  • The first Etherian currency is created to streamline the newly expanded trading system.

• 9451 LEC
  • In a desperate attempt to destroy all life on Etheros, the Vile One sends the Moon in its entirety to the surface of the planet.
  • Most species of Etheros are immediately made extinct, including elves and dwarves.

Great Darkness (9451-56895 LEC)

• 33962 LEC
  • The final living dragon, a metallic dragon, flees to the uninhabited island of Legarra.
• 56895 LEC
  • Gundaia, the first major settlement in thousands of years, is established in the Southern Alton subcontinent, ending the Great Darkness.

First Great Rebuilding (56895-57289 LEC)

• 57289 LEC
  • Boats are reinvented and used for the first time since before the Great Darkness, beginning Era 2.

Era 5 ([]-[] TEC)

Reconstruction (0-876 LEC)

• 114 LEC
  • A pacifistic society is established, encompassing much of the land of Etheros.
• 648 LEC
  • The first Etherian space settlement, Baseline Indigo, completes construction in orbit around the Hydronis binary star.
• 876 LEC
  • Kal Smitka discovers sub-material travel.

Golden Age of Humanity (876-[] LEC)

• 898 LEC
  • The first Etherian unmanned sub-material probe, Carrier 1, is launched from Setter Liftwing.
• 911 LEC
  • The first human-occupied sub-material probe, Carrier 14, is launched from Feint Granted with a crew of 3.
• 935 LEC
  • The Holy Particle Congregation is formed by the Future Radiation Safety Council to address the issue of communicating the dangers of long-term radioactive waste disposal sites.
