Ankata 1

Ankata 1 was a collaborative space settlement and the economic and political center of the Interstellar Planetary Coherence and Kammakan of Houses. Initially conceived as an extra-solar hub for interstellar collaboration, the creation of the IPC broadened its scope into the political center and de facto capital of the Coherence. With this increased scope came the necessity for residential areas, eventually expanding into a massive galactic population center capable of comfortably housing around 10 billion individuals.

In [] TEC, the IPC was reorganized into the Kammakan of Houses, though the scope of Ankata 1 remained largely the same. Due to the collaborative nature of the settlement, it was practical for the noble houses to retain it as their political center and meeting place. The residential areas also remained, however the rampant isolationism present during the rule of the Kammakan caused a significant number of domestic issues, eventually leading to the complete separation of the various species present into biologically homogeneous districts. The individual species rarely interacted with each other and a number of walls and other structures were built between districts to prevent any crossover. Non-essential common spaces were usually abandoned or taken over by adjacent districts, and essential spaces (such as those necessary for the upkeep of the station) were some of the only spaces co-occupied, albeit with heightened tensions.
